Three days before starting our new job at HP, we received an email with the names of all the new hires who would be starting work together. Like any normal 21 year old, recent college graduate, I decided to look up the only female name of the list. A girl by the name of Sarah L Jasinski. Luckily, she was pretty easy to find on Facebook, but it seemed to be extremely private. I couldn't tell if she just didn't have any pictures, or she didn't want anyone to see. The good news was, she was really pretty. The bad news, there were 8 other guys on this new hire list.

On the first day of work, I was the first one in the building. I waited patiently, not knowing if the girl who walked in shortly after me was a new hire or a normal employee. Soon enough, more of us congregated around the entrance looking lost. We were ushered into a meeting room and this was the first time I officially got to meet Sarah Lynn Jasinski.

June 13, 2014 I received my "Welcome to HP!" email addressed to myself and eight other guys. Of course I had to do my research to see who the potential eye candies around the office were going to be. First on the list...koletsb@gmail. A quick Google search takes you right to Mr. Brandon Koletsky's LinkedIn. Now that I had the name associated to the email I could look him up on Facebook. Unfortunately, he was instantly dismissed as a frat, football player from California. Not exactly what this girl from Dallas was after. Thank you, next.

June 16, 2014 rolls around. We all showed up early and had temporary badges made. Once our onboarding leader came down, we were instructed to pull out our letters of acceptance and IDs to have our official HP badges made. One way or another that guy from California didn't have the correct documents and ended up with my temporary badge for the day. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but here we are five years after that California boy stole my name badge...along the way he stole my heart...and now I'm ready to steal his last name.
Will you marry me?

Hiding a ring was not an easy task. I had the ring in hand months before I finally proposed. I knew I wanted to ask some time around January, but wasn't positive on how I wanted to do it. We were planning on going to Dallas for the Christmas break so I thought it would be a perfect time because her childhood friends would be in town along with her family. While we were thinking of places to go in Dallas for the week, a suggestion came up for an outdoor light show and I instantly knew it would be the perfect place to ask.

The morning of the show, I reached out to Sarah's friends, letting them know my plan. I wanted to make sure that someone was going to be videoing later that night. Before heading out, I hid the ring in my top jacket pocket, hoping it would be in place where she would not notice it. After dinner, the five of us went to the show. I wasn't sure how it was going to go down, other than I planned on doing it there. The show was a self-guided tour around a light maze of sorts. As we walked around, I was searching for the perfect place.

After about 15 minutes, I had finally saw it. An arrangement of white lights, in the shape of a heart. When we got close enough, there was a line to take a photo in front of it. Nearly 4 years leading up to this moment and my heart was starting to beat like crazy. It was pretty cold outside, so the two jackets I was wearing helped cover the ring box. We reached the front of the line, and the time had finally come. I handed the phone to Isabel, asking her to take a photo and we walked up to the heart for one last photo as boyfriend and girlfriend.

I definitely wasn't the kind of girl that had a sense of urgency to get engaged. I had never talked about rings, what kind of wedding I wanted, or how I wanted to be proposed to around Brandon. However, after 3.5 years of dating and starting to build a house together, something had to change. Hints started to get dropped by friends and family members- Grandpa Harold on the phone asking if any announcements were going to be made at Thanksgiving, overhearing Brandon's sister ask if he's asking my dad this weekend while in McKinney, and worst of all, when Brandon was on the phone with Blain downstairs while I was upstairs and Blain asked when he was going to do it and Brandon said "January." So the anxiety set in, but I was solid until January. Nails didn't have to be done until then.

So Christmas Eve Eve I didn't think anything of going to the Enchant Arlington light show. I had seen the event on social media and wanted to go see what it was all about. I missed a few hints throughout the night to say the least. First of all, Brandon forgot his phone which had the tickets on them. I guess he was a tad nervous. Also we had both brought two jackets not knowing how cold it would be. When we arrived it wasn't too chilly, but he insisted on wearing two jackets. Lastly, the group was very adamant on taking a picture under this heart that I was not about. They were all acting super weird, but I didn't catch on whatsoever. Needless to say, I was completely taken off guard when he got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him (as you can see below).
